  • For this edition of RA's ongoing collaboration with Black Minds Matter, Vanessa Maria speaks with Henrie Kwushue, a DJ, radio host and founder of production company HTK. During 2020 Kwushue published three films documenting the evolution of London boroughs Brixton, Peckham and Dalston, while contrasting how each area changes between day and night. Is Your Area Changing? saw her speak to residents about both the cultural richness of each borough and the challenges reshaping their communities, such as redevelopment programs and rising property prices. In 2021 she's followed it up with Untold Stories, a series where people share personal stories about everything from the pressures of parenthood to being Black in the education system. She's also the presenter of the Who We Be TALKS_ podcast series, which celebrates Black artists and culture in interviews with the likes of AJ Tracey, Busy Signal and Stefflon Don. In conversation with Maria, we hear of the process of founding a production company, managing relationships within the music industry and the importance of faith.
