This month, Sybil Gillespie reported on a timely topic in dance music: DJ etiquette. It's a common term, but what does good DJ etiquette actually look like? Noncompliant, DEBONAIR, Karizma, Parris and Sherelle, who found herself at the centre of a DJ etiquette controversy this month, shared some useful tips on everything from courteous handovers to reloads [12.18].
Tom Faber explored the resurgence of the chillout room and its relationship to ambient music. He visited The Pickle Factory, an East London nightclub that's opened a chillout room, and spoke to India Jordan, cofounder of the ambient-focused party New Atlantis, to get a sense of why these spaces disappeared in the first place, and why they are coming back [37.17].
