About

  • What is ‘club glow’? Is it the pearlescent euphoria of the breakdown or the sweat-slicked inner peace you feel after a cathartic dancefloor workout? The retro-future surrealism of a party under UV light, or the funk that clings to the venue walls long after the lights come up? Everyone has their own definition, but what’s certain is it’s rooted in the energy flash of the rave. As a collective entity, the four-strong hit squad of Borai, Denham Audio, LMajor and Mani Festo are specifically equipped to deal with this feeling. Individually, they’ve accomplished much in the field of contemporary rave music. Their mutually compatible crafts are steeped in the fundamentals of breakbeat hardcore and jungle, but crucially these musical principles are used as springboards for fresh, vital new club tracks. Beyond their solo adventures – which have landed on labels like WNCL, Hooversound, Astrophonica, Sneaker Social Club, Hotline, E-Beamz and Lobster Theremin – the four UK-based DJ/producer/rave evangelists have coalesced to present a united front as Club Glow. The collective effort first took shape as a tape series, the first volume mixed by Borai and Denham, the second by Major and Mani. Loaded with exclusive material, these tapes serve as the opening gambit for Club Glow, and the group evolves from this nexus point. In 2020, they tapped up an all-star cast to put together the Club Glow x Disc Shop Zero tape – a fundraiser in loving memory of a true champion of the scene, Tokyo record shop owner Naoki (RIP). Now individual 12”s from the core crew are cementing the CG sound as they take their razor-sharp, break-wielding battle jams far and wide. With a selectors attitude to match their studio fortitude (just check their sessions on Balamii), the damage in the dance is inevitable.
