INDEX:Records was realised in Amsterdam in 2016 by two friends, King Softy and Conna Haraway, who originally hail from opposite ends of the globe, but became magnetised by a musical connection. The duo’s shared recognition that many talented producers within their networks, often emerging artists, had no outlet for their music, prompted the conception of the label: a communal space for a diverse set of creators to release their music.
INDEX:Records focuses on creating authentic dance music, without the constraint of rigid genre classification. The label is now predominantly based in Berlin, but has strong connections to Manchester, the wider UK, and New Zealand.
