  • In the years since learning the ropes of broadcasting as an intern at BBC Radio 1 and Annie Mac's show, Jaguar has moved to the forefront of British electronic music radio. After running her own show on Reprezent radio and hosting Mixmag's Lab series, she was picked to host Radio 1's Introducing Dance, a weekly slot dedicated to showcasing emerging electronic dance music artists. She's further applied herself to fostering new talent with the Future1000 programme, a free, 12-part online course training 1000 female, trans and non-binary musicians in DJing, production and industry skills. Then there's her UTOPIA Talks podcast series, which she describes as a platform for "in-depth, meaty conversations about issues in dance music culture and the wider world," covering everything from LGBTQ+ rights in Poland, to the neglect of vocalists and dance music's Black origins. In conversation with Vanessa Maria, we hear of Jaguar's time growing up on the small island of Alderney, her vision for greater representation in the music industry and thoughts on the MOBO Awards' relationship to electronic music.
