  • Chloé Robinson became a renowned DJ quickly after taking up the craft at age 19. After spending her rent money on a pair of Technics and adopting the name Barely Legal, Robinson mixed up garage, grime, drum & bass, funky and dubstep in a way that both reflected the creative eclecticism of UK DJing in the early '10s and earned her respect from leaders in each style. Her first-ever recorded mix ended up landing her a two-year residency on MistaJam's BBC radio show, which she followed up by helming a series of Daily Dose mixes for 1Xtra and becoming a staple booking at The Warehouse Project and other major festivals. Over the years her sound incorporated more techno and electro, which has lead to her dropping the alias and adopting her given name. In conversation with Martha, Robinson talks through the reasons behind the move, gives insight into the process behind her forthcoming tracks with DJ ADHD and shares plans for her label Pretty Weird.
