  • As executive director of the Bob Moog Foundation, Michelle Moog-Koussa leads an organisation that fuses her father's revolutionary work as the designer of Moog synthesisers with educational programmes and resources. Dr Bob's Soundschool project teaches second-grade students the physics of sound, hearing and the scientific method using acoustic and electronic instruments and sound visualisation tools like the oscilloscope. The Foundation's archives provide a historically significant resource through their touring exhibits, which feature the schematics behind Moog's designs and 50 years worth of correspondence and memorabilia. In 2019 the Foundation opened the Moogseum in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, and now offers online exhibits charting Moog's cultural impact, the development of his instruments and the evolution of synthesis. In conversation, Michelle Moog-Koussa tells the story behind the Foundation's work and shares her experiences of archiving family history and growing up with a world-changing designer for a father.
