- Janina's barely 30 years old, but she's a veteran when it comes to Berlin house music. A resident at Club der Visionaere for more than ten years, this German DJ is one of the canal-side spot's core associates, known for great taste and a smart, considered approach to building sets. She first played at the much-loved venue, which is known for a focus on subtle dance floor sounds, at the age of 18, and has gone on to become one of its most recognisable faces. In that time, Janina's profile outside Berlin has been growing steadily and, like fellow resident Binh (who we profiled last year), you're now more likely to catch her spinning abroad than behind Club der Visionaere's dusty RODEC mixer. At the tail-end of a busy summer spent in Ibiza, Janina visited our Berlin office for a chat with Matt Unicomb about her career so far, sharing thoughts on the charm of her home club and the importance of Berlin's legendary Beatstreet parties.
