  • For the last 20 years, Dave Lee has been producing and promoting the more soulful end of the dance music spectrum to much acclaim. He's best known for his Joey Negro alias, but this is actually just one of over 30 stage names he's used, which have included The Sunburst Band, Akabu and Jakatta. Between these monikers he's touched on everything from jazz funk to deep house down the years. Recently he's been scratching his disco itch again with a new compilation of re-edited classics from the likes of Patrice Rushen and Roy Ayers. Stephen Titmus caught up Lee to discuss his long career in dance music, his sizeable record collection and his surprising connection to Take That, one of Britain's most well know pop bands.
