ROB HALL has been high up on the Don’t hit list since the first party in 2012 and I’m super happy that it’s finally happening.
Among the many credits to his name, he’s Autechre’s 'go to' tour DJ, a part of the mysterious ‘GESCOM’ outfit and highly decorated official at legendary maverick Electronics label Skam records, but it’s his unquestionable power as a selector that tops everything else.
Not content to toe the Techno line and consequently held in the highest regard by those who know, Rob is renown for his versatility and knowledgable selections so athough you may not be able to guess what shape or path his sets will take on any given performance, you can always be sure that the route will be innovative and inspiring.
Gigging since 1992 and still gloriously non-conformist and dedicated to the cause, expect a Techno set that will split your head right open!
ANOTHER ALIAS is a DJ and producer hailing from Dublin, who has been busy carving out a definite sound for himself of late and has recently kicked off his own label ‘Whites Of My Eyes’ with an absolute stormer of an EP which chimed so much with what I’m into that I invited him to record an EP for Don’t, and I’m very proud that we’ll be launching that EP on the 28th !!
This Dubliner’s productions absolutely bang, whilst managing to hit a delightfully off-kilter tone which is a tricky combination to get right. The same expert arrangement can be found in his DJ sets as in his tracks showing an understanding beyond his years of what works and why.
The DECODING THE VOID collective shall be opening the Halloween party on the 28th October. Decoding the void was formed at the end of last year by Alba Heidari & Manson X with the aim of combining their passion for Techno in order to better share the music they love.
Whether it’s hosting room 2 at Corsica Studios’ infamous Jaded afterparty or broadcasting from New River Studios’ brand new and fast growing 199radio, the DTV crew are all about the music and I hope that you’ll come along and enjoy the party right from the beginning !
Plus your resident and organiser, Jerome Hill
Really pleased to announce the location for the next Don't party; The recently opened and purpose built Five Miles venue in Seven Sisters..
After visiting and seeing the space, the bar and hearing the sound system I knew we had to do at least one Don't there..
It's a 300 person capacity, purpose built and sound proofed dance floor with plenty of space for the Don't crowd to throw their shapes. Also there's a completely seperate room with an *amazing* bar featuring a generous selection of drinks including 18 taps!! (craft beer, IPAs, ales, ciders and much more).
THE SOUND SYSTEM has been designed and installed behind the walls of the club (by an Austrian named Wolfgang no less) and the amount of Sub Bass able to be deployed (no neighbours) is nothing short of spectacular !
The venue is on Markfield road, just a short walk from Seven Sisters station on the Victoria line.
The date is October 28th, Fancy Dress is encouraged and it's gonna be one to remember !!
