Fenix and The Berkeley Suite are honoured to welcome the legend that is Soichi Terada to Glasgow for the first time to play live this September!
Soichi has been around for so long and done so much it's hard to know where start for an introduction. A hero of the industry, he started his career in the late 80s when he founded the record label Far East Recording. This label became synonymous with the unique sound of Japanese deep house, taking an unconventional approach to early electronic sounds that had resonated with him.
After this he went on to form the musical group Omodaka with Akiko Kanazawa and went on to release a string of hugely popular albums. As well as this Soichi has also been involved in composing scores for several Japanese dramas along with a substantial amount of work on video game composition. Most notably on the Ape Escape series, eventually composing for 7 games.
Recently Terada has been largely involved Rush Hour Records of Amsterdam, due to their reissue of a seminal recording of a Far East Record.
Basically he's going to be joining us for a very special evening of funky electronic beats.
Support on the night shall come from one of the talismans of Glasgow's underground scene The Revenge, and Fenix residents J. Walbaum & A.M.
