We are delighted to announce that the pub is re-opening, and for our first night, we have invited Silverlining to host the first in a series of artist listening sessions exploring alternative journeys through ambient soundscapes. While many will be more familiar with his dancefloor material, Silverlining first started DJing in 1993 on pirate radio stations playing ambient and electronica. In contrast to the staple of jungle and garage on the airwaves of the time, Silverlining’s Sunday morning shows came about as he was the only person they knew with any chillout music whatsoever. Using a pair of the decks for the first time live on air, he was forced to mix by key and mood, instead of beatmatching. As a result of these shows, his collection started to grow and he got into the techno and house that inspired his early releases.
For the 19th, Silverlining has told us that he plans to return to this approach to mixing, using music from the past, present, and all around the world, overlaid with field recordings from nature and atmospheres from his studio. This sonic hike into the wilderness will be the perfect midweek soundtrack to long overdue catch-ups over our reasonably priced drinks and food.
This event is seated and will require a booking via RA prior to the event.
We will be following the current COVID-19 regulations and ask if you are showing symptoms or feel unwell you do not attend.
