Steve first emerged as a creative force to be reckoned with thanks to the massive support ‘Synaesthesia’ received from world class DJs Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk. This launched the relatively unknown producer into the often fickle world of dance music. Soon after, production work started coming in and Steve found himself very busy putting together an ambient mix of Chicane’s ethereal classic ‘Saltwater’ and various other remixes for the likes of Timo Maas, Blank & Jones, Seb Fontaine and Sonique. Steve has also recorded under various different guises, including En Motion, Insigma and Rapid Eye with releases on trailblazing labels including Neo, Incentive,VC and of course Data. For Thrillseekers debut on Data 'Thinking Of You', Steve teamed up with vocalist Alexis Strum (pictured). Alexis' musical career began at age 15 when, to make the boys like her, she bought a guitar and formed a band. The Londoners’ shallow motives soon changed and she began gigging at top London acoustic venues whilst at Uni – and still managed to achieve a first in English! A publishing deal with Warner Chappell in 2000 has seen Alexis writing and recording all over Europe and has formed a strong tie with Ibiza – not surprising considering her frequent trips to the hedonistic island to write with York. “I heard about Alexis through her collaboration with York on ‘Yesterday’,” remembers Steve. “It’s a great track! She’s also done some stuff with Ed Case and Dumonde vs Lange – I knew she’d be perfect for ‘Dreaming of You’ – and she is!”
